On Sunday, 12/10/1997 23 NGOs   gathered in coordination with the concerned governmental agencies, like the Ministry of Social Affairs, the National Council for Childhood and Motherhood, the Juvenile Police, to discuss the issue of street children in Egypt considering it a problem that causes sleepless nights for the society - regarding that children are the most precious property of a nation, the youth of the future, those who will take over the leadership of the society in all the fields of its civilization. The participants emphasized the necessity of the solidarity of all the non- governmental and governmental parties with the aim of saving the street children from the danger surrounding them from all sides and of protecting them from all kinds of exploitation they are exposed to.
